Main Strings: Babolat RPM Blast 17g
The 17g RPM Blast offers greater spin generation at the expense of some durability compared to the thicker 16 gauge version. This string shares the same basic construction and co-polyester composition as the popular Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour, with a few minor tweaks. The RPM Blast stays with the octagonal profile but enhances the spin generation through the use of a new dye and coating.
This firm and durable co-poly is very, very spin friendly. The slick surface of RPM Blast allows the main strings to slide out of alignment, grab the ball and then snap back to add spin to the shot. While all co-poly monofilaments do this to some extent, lab tests confirm that RPM Blast is exceptional in this regard. Though RPM Blast offers a slightly softer feel than traditional polyesters, it is by no means the softest co-poly available. It is an ideal choice for big hitters with heavier racquets seeking maximum control, durability, and spin. This 17g version offers slightly more spin and feel than the 16g version.
Cross Strings: Tecnifibre Synthetic Gut 16g
The Tecnifibre Synthetic Gut 16g is a great selection for the cross strings. This is a solid core string with single wrapped monofilament and an anti-abrasion coating. Provides good performance and the thicker gauge will provide frequent string breakers with more durability.
